Zimni, or the investigation case diary, should show what the investigation team did and when it did it. In Missal Police Writing (MPW) it is part of the missal, then printed as Androni or Beroni — not a separate consumer app. Specimen helpers: Androni zimni tool and Beroni zimni tool. Official install: Download. It is a working record written as work proceeds, not a short summary composed at the end to match a finished report. Because the exact form, retention, and distribution of Androni and Beroni copies depend on local instructions, follow the current procedure for your unit.

The principle behind the diary does not vary: the file should tell one story in dated order. Where a zimni jumps, contradicts the recoveries, or describes work that other papers never mention, the problem is not the quality of the Urdu — it is the quality of the record.

Purpose of the zimni ضمنی کا مقصد

The diary has three practical jobs. First, it records the sequence of investigation so a supervisor can see whether the work was continuous and reasonable. Second, it provides the dated backbone that every other document references — recoveries, notices, applications, and the eventual report. Third, it protects the officer by showing what was done, when, and on what basis.

Inspection officers reading a zimni are not looking for literary Urdu. They are looking for a dated path: visit recorded, statement recorded, property handled, notice issued, result received. A diary that reads like a list of real actions on real dates does its job. A diary that reads like a rewritten conclusion does not.

Legal duties around the case diary come from criminal procedure rather than from any software screen. Read the current provisions from a trusted source or from the reference copies on Other Docs & Books; the scope of this article is writing practice, not statute.

Writing dated entries تاریخ والی entries لکھنا

Each important action should have a real date and enough detail to identify the place, the people involved, and the result. If a search happens on Monday and the statement is recorded on Tuesday, record each on its own date. Do not create entries for work that did not happen, and do not back-date a report to make the file look complete.

When several actions occur on one date, order them so the sequence is clear. A visit to the place of occurrence, a recovered article, and a later application can all belong on the same date, but each should be distinguishable. A reader should never have to guess which of three comma-separated actions came first.

Use consistent terminology throughout. If the diary calls a location "the eastern door" on day one, the map and the fard should use the same reference. Switching labels between entries forces the reader to decide whether two descriptions mean the same place.

What belongs in each entry ہر entry میں کیا شامل ہو

A useful entry answers, in order: what was done, where, when, by whom, with whom present, and what resulted. The exact depth depends on the action, but the categories below cover most investigation work:

Entries should stay factual. Avoid conclusions about guilt, avoid speculation about motives the record does not support, and avoid recording second-hand rumour as if it were an examined fact. If a lead did not pan out, the diary can say so — that is more useful than silence.

Androni and Beroni اندرونی اور بیرونی

In many workflows, Androni is treated as the internal copy and Beroni as the external copy that travels with the missal. The names, format, and handling rules are not universal across Pakistan, so apply your unit's instruction.

Regardless of labels, two rules hold. First, each copy must serve its stated purpose — internal notes stay with the authorised record, external papers travel with the file when required. Second, and more important, both must describe the same investigation. There should never be two different versions of what happened. A fact important enough for court should already live in the diary.

Where an internal note contains material that legitimately stays internal, the external copy should still be consistent with it — omitting an internal detail is acceptable; contradicting it is not. When the two copies disagree, a reader who sees both will treat the whole file with suspicion.

The zimni is the spine that other documents hang from. Each link should be checkable in both directions:

Example of a three-way contradiction to avoid: the diary says the lock was broken on the eastern door, the map places the broken door on the west, and the fard lists a toolkit the diary never described. Three papers, three stories. The fix is not a better font — it is writing the scene once in the diary and letting fard and map describe that same scene.

Gaps and delays خلا اور تاخیر

Investigation legitimately pauses: a forensic report is pending, a witness is unavailable, an accused is at large. A silent three-week gap in the diary looks like neglect even when the pause was real. Where a period passes without a completed step, a short entry recording the position — what was awaited, what was attempted, what remained pending — keeps the record honest and continuous.

Do not fill a gap with invented activity. A truthful entry saying "no step completed today; report awaited" is stronger than a fabricated visit. Supervisors reading for continuity are far more concerned about unexplained blanks than about honest slow progress.

Final checks حتمی چیک

Read the zimni from the FIR date to the proposed report date before anything is printed:

Typing and print-level errors that can masquerade as diary errors are listed in common missal writing mistakes. Investigation-quality problems — late particulars, missing dates, recovery without witnesses — are in common investigation mistakes.

MPW can reuse FIR identity fields and help format dated entries from templates, but it cannot create a truthful record. The officer remains responsible for the facts, dates, and attachments. Template and form choices are covered in the MPW forms guide.
